Mr. Batley is co-owner of a real estate company located on the Balboa Peninsula in the Cannery Village/McFadden Square area. Ilaving been involved in real estate I know the area well. I ride my bike around the Back Bay, take the ferry to the Peninsula and ride along the boardwalk every weekend. In my travels I get a chance to view the city from a visitor's perspective. When I see the "Bird Man" at McFadden Square, I see the delight of the children and those that gather at the square. We are members of the Visitors Bureau and Newport Chamber of Commerce. We welcome many visitors to the city here on the Peninsula every year. I personally have a strong interest in being involved the Newport Pier/McFadden Square business district. I look forward being involved with the Economic Development Committee.
