SUBJECT:
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Approve an agreement with Richard L. Belveal to permit
non-standard improvements in the public right-of-way
adjacent to 701 Kings Road.
2. Authorize the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute the
agreement.
3. Direct the City Clerk to record the agreement with the
County Recorder.
DISCUSSION:
The elevation of the first floor of the house is below the level
of Kings Road. In connection with remodeling, it is proposed to construct a
stairway and three raised planters a maximum of 24 inches in height, encroach-
ing four feet into the 12 -foot -wide parkway; and to maintain an existing non-
standard driveway approach. The location is shown on the attached sketch.
The subject agreement will protect the City from liability caused
by surface water entering the property from the street, and from liability
from people being injured in the parkway area.
