This application is made in order that we might clarify and correct this misunderstanding. Our normal business hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday. During which time vehicles impounded from private property are released without the charge of a release fee. These office hours are normal and customary. An exception to these hours of opperation is contained in our contract with the City of Newport Beach to provide service at the Police Departments requests. This condition requires that we release vehicles towed for the Police Department with no charge for release from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week. The other apparent misunderstanding lies in the fact that it is customary for storage to be charged from the time a vehicle is placed in storage. The exception to this is vehicles stored at the Police Departments request are not charged for storage if released in the first twelve hours of storage. The attached request is for a return to customary opper- ation with respect to our private property opperations. we are not requesting a change in the conditions of our police contract which we intend to follow as before.
