SUBJECT: REQUEST OF THE BALBOA ISLAND IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION TO CONSTRUCT AN
ILLUMINATED SIGN BOARD ON THE RAILING OF THE NORTHWESTERLY APPROACH
TO THE BALBOA ISLAND BRIDGE (EP -87-286)
RECOMMENDATION:
If desired:
Approve the application subject to:
a. Execution of an agreement for non-standard improvements,
and
b. An encroachment permit from the Public Works Department,
and
c. Obtaining the proper building permits from the Building
Department.
DISCUSSION:
The Balboa Island Improvement Association has applied for a permit to
construct an illuminated sign on the northwesterly approach to the Balboa Island
Bridge. The sign will be on the right hand side as one goes onto the Island.
The location and details of the proposed sign are shown on the attached sketch.
The purpose of the sign is to give notice to the residents of com-
mur�ityL
ities and other public announcements.
