Subject: Agreement with State Board of Equalization re Sales and Use Tax Please have five copies of the attached agreement executed on behalf of the City, and attach to :each,signed copy (1) a certified copy of the ordinance, ame=digg,,'Chapter 3.04 pertaining. to Sales ' an-d-Use. -ax, just adopted; and (2) a certified copy of the resolution authorizing exec tioii.of this agreement.. The extra copy o f the agreement may be retained for your files. .According to instructions from the State, it appears that in addition to the five certified copies of the ordinance to be used as attachments, a separate group of five certified copies of the ordinance should accompany the agreement, and the entire package should be.sent to: State Board of Equalization Local Tax Unit , P. O. Box 1759 Sacramento, CA 95808 Attention: .Mr. R." M. Hocking. Supervising Auditor The agreement will then be executed on behalf of the Board and submitted to the Department of General Services for approval. When approved, one copy will be returned to the City with endorsement of approval. The copy retained by you may then be conformed with the approved copy. RESOLUTION NO. 8 10 8 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY ' -OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA BOARD OF EQUALIZA- TION TO INCORPORATE RECENT CHANGES IN STATE LEGISLATION PERTAINING TO SALES AND USE TAX TO BE ADMINISTERED BY SAID BOARD WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of the City of Newport Beach a certain agreement between the City of Newport Beach and the State of California Board of Equalization to.incorporate recent changes in State legislation pertaining to Sales and Use Tax to be administered by said Board; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the terms and conditions of said contract and found them to be fair and equitable and in the.best interests of the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE.IT RESOLVED by the,City Council of the City of Newport Beach that said agreement above described is approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of the City of Newport Beach..
