Agenda Item H-2 (t)(u)(v) t The City of Newport Beach has entered'into agreements with the following three employee associations: 1 0l i. 2. i eang fegua ds� 3 P.rro,es'sio a 5'Ce-Chf[�l� The basic agreements can be summarized as follows: Police Association: a.) A salary increase of 15.6% for the sworn classifications: A salary increase of 13.6% for the non -sworn classifications. b.) An increase in the maximum annual dental benefit (Basic & Major) from $500 to $750. c.) An agreement to celebrate Veterans' Day on November 11. d.) The City agrees to meet/confer with Association members regarding the selection of a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) in a timely manner. Ocean Lifeguards: a.) A salary increase of all covered classifications of 14%. b.) An increase in the maximum annual dental benefit (Basic & Major) from $500 to $750. c.) An agreement to celebrate Veterans' Day on November 11. d.) A salary.increase of 13.6% for all covered classifications. b.) Effective 1-1-81, a 22% adjustment for the following classifications: 1. Associate Civil Engineer 2. Chief Building Inspector 3. Chief Plan Check Engineer 4. Counterman I c.) Additional holidays for the contract period include December 26, 1980, and January 2, 1981. Members of the Association give up the 1/2 day December 24, 1980 and the 1/2 day December 31, 1980. d.) Agreement to celebrate Veterans' Day on November 11. e.) The City agrees to meet/confer with Ocean Lifeguard members regarding the selection of a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) in a timely manner. f.) City establishes right to establish a separate Retirement Plan for new employees. All three agreements were settled within the Council's guidelines. WAYNE A. SCHWAMMEL, Personnel Director
