SUBJ: MEET AND CONFER FY 85/86 - ftt-7,-' $:rWAIL
The City's Negotiating Team has reached an agreement with the
Newport Beach Professional/Technical Employees Association. Our
agreement can be summarized as follows:
1. Total Compensation increase of 5.0%
a) No increases in health, life or disability
insurance cost
2. Night shift differential to be increased to $.425 per
hour.
3. Vision Care to be included in Health Insurance Policy
at no cost to the City.
4. Family sick leave is increased from 8 hours to 40 hours
per year.
5. Section 705.1 of the Personnel Resolution, Bereavement
Leave, shall read as follows:
"The necessary absence from duty by an employee
having a regular or probationary appointment,
because of the death or terminal illness in his/
her immediate family."
6. This agreement, in total, will cost the City an
additional $138,494 for Fiscal Year 1985-86.
In accordance with the City Council's direction, it is
recommended that the attached Memorandum of Understanding for
Fiscal Year 1985/86 be approved effecti J ne 2, 198 .
