APP����1� ;1 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND AGENDA ITEM -F -3-(e) MEMBERS OF CITY COUNCIL FROM: CITY NEGOTIATING TEAM: John Burkhart Bob Dixon Duane Munson SUBJ: MEET AND CONFER FY 85/86 - NNOW The City's Negotiating Team has reached an agreement with the Newport Beach City Employees Association. Our agreement can be summarized as follows: 1. Total Compensation increase of 5.5% a) No increases in health, life or disability insurance cost 2. Night shift differential to be increased to $.425 per hour. 3. Vision Care to be included in Health Insurance Policy at no cost to the City. 4. Section 705.1 of the Personnel Resolution, Bereavement Leave, shall read as follows: "The necessary absence from duty by an employee having a regular or probationary appointment, because of the death or terminal illness in his/ her immediate family." 5. The Personnel Director will review the City's hiring practices for the purpose of identifying any sex -based discrimination or pay inequity that may exist. Should such sex -based pay inequity be determined to exist, the extent will be evaluated and it will be reported to the City Manager where a remedy will be sought. (continued) 0 -2- 6. This agreement, in ,total, will cost the City an additional $118,813 fot-Fiscal Year 1985-86.
