SUBJECT: MEET -AND -CONFER FY 82/83 - NEWPORT BEACH FIREFIGHTERS
On Wednesday, July 7, 1982, the City Negotiating Team reached an agree-
ment with the Newport Beach Firefighters Association (NBFFA). The Agree-
ment can be summarized as follows:
1. Total compensation increase ... 9.5%
2. Salary increase ... 7% across the board
3. Family Sick Leave . Employees will be allowed to use
four (4) twelve (12) hour days of accrued sick leave
per calendar year for an illness of spouse, son or
daughter which requires the presence of the employee.
4. As a result of the deadline for submitting City Council
Agenda items, this Memorandum of Understanding has been
accepted by the Firefighters' negotiating team with the
understanding that the agreement is subject to the formal
ratification by the Association membership.
In accordance with the City Council's direction, it is recommended that
the attached Memorandum of Understanding for Fiscal Year 82/83 be approved
retroactive to July 1, 1982.
