MEET & CONFER FISCAL YEAR 1985-86 - N.B. FIREFIGHTERS ASSOC.
The City's Negotiating Team has reached an agreement with the
Newport Beach Firefighters Association. Our agreement can be
summarized as follows:
1.) Total compensation increase of 4.5%
2.) City to provide, outside of J-1, a physical examina-
tion which will comply with CALOSHA recommendations.
Estimated cost $68 per per person per year.
3.) Court stand -by -pay to be increased from one (1) hour
paid for eight (8) hours of stand-by to four (4) hours
paid for eight (8) hours of stand-by.
4.) Limited vision care plan to be included in the
Health Insurance policy at no cost to the City.
5.) Section 705.1 of the Personnel Resolution, Bereavement
Leave, shall read as follows:
"The necessary absence from duty by an employee
having a regular or probationary appointment,
because of the death or terminal illness in
his/her immediate family."
6.) Negotiations to be reopened upon implementation
of the Fair Labor Standards Act, concerning the
method of paying wages and hours.
