SUBJECT: 1987/88 COMPENSATION NEGOTIATIONS
SUMMARY OF UNDERSTANDING TO DATE
FIREFIGHTERS
1. Total Compensation increase of 3%.
2 Family Sick Leave Policy language will be changed to include within its
scope persons "dependent" upon the employee.
3. Employees holding a City paid disability level of sick leave (320 hours
• or 40 months accrual) who use six or fewer days of sick leave in a calendar
year will be permitted to convert on an annual basis up to six days a year at
50% value. Conversion for cash or vacation will be subject to Department
Director's discretion. Days converted will be deducted from the bank of time
available for conversion at termination or retirement.
