SUBJECT: MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING - FISCAL YEAR 1981-82
NEWPORT BEACH EMPLOYEES LEAGUE
The City Negotiating Team has reached an agreement with the Newport Beach
Employees League. The agreement can be summarized as follows:
1. Total compensation increase: 11.0%
2. Inclusive in the total compensation increase, the City
agreed to the following:
a. Payment of one-half (3.5%) of the employee's PERS
contribution rate
b. Increase from $.375 to $.50 per hour night shift
differential for Automotive Shop mechanics.
C. Increase from $.50 to $.75 per hour call-back pay.
3. Prudential Health Insurance Maximum Major Medical benefit
changed from $250,000 to unlimited at no premium increase
to the City.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE MEMORANDUM OF
UNDERSTANDING NEGOTIATED BY REPRESENTATIVES OF
THE NEWPORT BEACH EMPLOYEE'S LEAGUE AND THE
CITY'S REPRESENTATIVES
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 7173 of the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach provides that the City Representatives and
Representatives of the Newport Beach Employee's League will meet
and confer in good faith regarding matters within the scope of
• representation; and
WHEREAS, the City Representatives and Representatives
of the Newport Beach Employee's League have jointly recommended
approval of this Memorandum of Understanding by the City Council,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach.does hereby approve the Memorandum of
Understanding between the City of Newport Beach and the Newport
Beach Employees League a copy of which is attached hereto and
made a part hereof, and authorizes the City's Representatives to
execute the same on behalf of the City of Newport Beach,
retroactively effective July 1, 1981.(((���
