The City Negotiating Team has reached an agreement with the, Newport Beach Employee
League. The Agreement can be summarized as follows:
1. Total Conpensation increase: 5.0%
2. The City and NBEL agreed that on or about October 1, 1984,
to reopen the contract for the purpose of meeting and con-
ferring on the issue of providing a Retiree Health Insurance
Plan. The parties agreed to limit the reopener to this item
and to those item which may be affected should agreement
be reached.
3. Family Sick Leave: Employees will be allowed to use five (5)
eight (8) lour days of accrued sick leave per calendar year
for an illness of spouse, son or daughter which requires the
presence of the employee.
In accordance with the City Council's direction, it is recommended that the
attached Metmrandtmm of understanding for Fiscal Year 84/85 be approved effective
June 23, 1984.
