SUBJ: MEET AND CONFER FY 85/86 - NEWPORT BEACH EMPLOYEES LEAGUE
The City's Negotiating Team has reached an agreement with the
Newport Beach Employees League. Our agreement can be summarized
as follows:
1. Total Compensation increase of 5.0%
a) 2% additional in salary for classification of
Utility Construction Specialist taken out of
overall J-1.
b) No increases in health, life or disability
insurance cost
2.
Vision Care to be included in Health Insurance Policy
at no cost to the City.
3.
Section 705.1 of the
Personnel Resolution, Bereavement
Leave, shall read as
follows:
"The necessary
absence from duty by an employee
having a regular
or probationary appointment,
because of the
death or terminal illness in his/
her immediate
family."
4.
The time period for
the initial filing of a grievance
shall be extended to
ten (10) calendar days.
5.
The City will issue
policy language standardizing the
leave policy for all
field departments and all NBEL
members.
6.
This agreement will,
in total, cost the City an additional
$286,783 for Fiscal
Year 1985-86.

recommended that the attached Memorandum of Understanding for
Fiscal Year 1985-86 be approved effecti a June 22, 198 .
