Rea Providing of barriers at east and west ends of front
walk at Marinapark to prevent usage as a bicycle path.,
History% The front walkway of Marinapark is for the use of the
public and tenants of the park as .a pedestrian passage
to the Bay beach and access to 15th and 19th Streets.
It is posted at both ends to prohibit pets, bicycles,
skateboards, rollerskates and motorcycles. This walk
is increasingly being used as a bicycle path with an
occasional skateboard and motorcycle. (See attached
photos.) There is no adequate enforcement of viola- .
tions. Daring the week of May 25th three persons were
struck by bicycles. It is probable that if this matter
is not corrected, some injury will ensue with resultant
legal action against the City.
PETITIONa WE, THE UNDERSIGNED TENANTS OF MARINAPARK, DO HEREBY
PETITION THE CITY COUNCIL TO TAKE NECESSARY STEPS TO
PRDVIDE BARRIERS (SUCH AS TURNSTILES) AT EACH END OF
THE FRONT WALKWAY IN MARINAPARK TO PREVENT USAGE BY
BICYCLES.
