FROM: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT PPROVED SUBJECT: LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH TO ALLOW FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF REACH NO. 2 (Brookhurst Street to the Talbert Channel) OF THE WATER TRANSMISSION MAIN FOR THE GROUNDWATER DEVELOPMENT PROJECT ( Contract No. 3004 -9)-1 T-/ RECOMMENDATION: Ratify the Mayor's signature for the execution of the License Agreement with the City of Huntington Beach to allow for the • construction and maintenance of Reach No. 2 (Brookhurst Street to the Talbert Channel) of the water transmission main for the Groundwater Development Project ( Contract No. 3004 -�) DISCUSSION: F On May 8, 1995 the City Council reviewed the general conditions of a license agreement that would allow Newport Beach to place Reach No. 2 of the water transmission main for the Groundwater Development Project in Huntington Beach city streets (Banning Avenue, Bushard Street and Hamilton Avenue). This agreement also allows for the construction and maintenance of the water line. The final agreement was given to the staff and executed by Mayor Hedges on May 12, 1995. The critical conditions of the agreement were the same as those reviewed by the City Council and the Huntington Beach staff felt that their City Council would want to know that Newport Beach had reviewed the agreement before they acted so Mayor Hedges signed the agreement to expedite the process.
