BACKGROUND: The current membership of the Committee includes representatives from four homeowners associations - Dover Shores/Mariner's, Eastbluff, Balboa Island and Lido Isle. At its last meeting, the Committee recommended that representation be extended to Corona del Mar. DISCUSSION: Residents from Corona del Mar, particularly Irvine Terrace, have complained that flights from John Wayne Airport stray over their neighborhoods. Additionally, some residents of Corona del Mar have voiced concern about the use of El Toro and the possibility of flights overflying Corona del Mar. RECOMMENDATION: If the Council desires to add such representation, it is recommended that the Council first approve the attached resolution and then receive nominations and appoint a representative at a subsequent meeting. D ino KJD:mb Attachment M RESOLUTION NO. 94- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 88-106 ADDING A HOMEOWNERS' ASSOCIATION REPRESENTATIVE TO THE AVIATION COMMITTEE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach adopted Resolution No. 88-106 regarding the establishment, duties, and composition of the Aviation Committee; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend that Resolution to provide for additional representation from homeowners' association. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach does hereby amend portions of Resolution No. 88-106 to read as follows: "4. Five (5) residents of the City of Newport Beach each representing a homeowners' association; and 5. Alternates for the five (5) citizens representing the homeowners' association."
