Passenger traffic up
at John Wayne Airport
Increase over first

Passenger traffic at Orange Coun-
ty's John Wayne Airport increased by

Some 412,946 more passengers
passed through the airport's doors
between Jan uary and June of this year
than did in the first six months of
1985, according to statistics released
by the airport management.
As of June, more than 1.9 million
people had arrived or departed from
the busy airport, a 26.3 percent
increase over the first half of 1985.
Overall airport operations rose by
4.2 percent with increased activity by
commerical airlines balanced by a
13.8 percent reduction in air taxi or
commuter service.
Air cargo and military transpor-
tation activities declined significantly
between the 1985 and 1986 survey
periods. Cargo flights were down 20.4
percent while military traffic slipped
by 36.2 percent.
General aviation activity showed
only a minor 1.1 percent increase this
year over last.

These statistics provides another nail for the Newport Beach City coffin
as it slowly dies as a lovely and worthwhile place to live..
Here is further indication of the deterioration and ultimate destruction
of the former quality living conditions now taking place in our jet -noise
impacted City.
As these statistics grow, it is certain that the Residents of Newport
Beach will have nothing more than another LAX Playa del Rey condition::
