BALBOARESOLUTION NO. 1446 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL THE ADOPTION OF GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 95 -1(E) AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE NEWPORT BEACH GENERAL PLAN TO REDESIGNATE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 515 WEST BALBOA BOULEVARD FROM "GOVERNMENTAL, EDUCATIONAL AND INSTITUTIONAL FACILITIES" TO "SINGLE- FAMILYRESIDENTIAL." [GPA 95 -1(E)j WHEREAS, as part of the.development and implementation of the City's General Plan, the Land Use Element has been prepared; and WHEREAS, said element of the General Plan sets forth objectives and supporting policies which serve as a guide for future development of the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 707 of the Charter of the City of Newport Beach, the Planning Commission has held a duly noticed public hearing to consider a certain amendment to the above referenced element of the Newport Beach General Plan; WHEREAS, in conjunction with the consideration of the above referenced amendment to the Land Use Element of the General Plan, the project has been determined to be Categorically Exempt from the provisions of the Califonria Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under Class 5 (Minor Alteration in Land Use), since as the site is currently zoned for residential use; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Newport Beach that an amendment to the Land Use Element of the General Plan be recommended to the City Council for approval as follows: That the property located in the 500 Block of West Balboa Boulevard, between 5th Street and 6th Street on the southerly side of West Balboa Boulevard (515 West Balboa Boulevard), more particularly described as, Lots 10 -13 of Block 10 of East Newport Tract be redesignated from "Governmental, Educational and Institutional Facilities" to "Single - Family Residential." ADOPTED this 5th day of December . 1996, by the following vote, to wit: AYES Ridgeway, Kranzley.Gifford, Selich, Ashley NOES none ABSENT Adams BY Garold B.
