A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH INITIATING AN AMENDMENT
TO TITLE 20 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE
PERTAINING TO THE CALCULATION OF RESIDENTIAL
FLOOR AREAS [AMENDMENT 8951
WHEREAS, Title 20 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code authorizes the Planning Commission
to adopt a resolution initiating amendments to the Zoning Code of the City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission intends to initiate an amendment to revise Section
20.10.030 (Property Development Regulation M) of Title 20 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code to
exempt elevator shafts, dumbwaiter shafts, ventilation shafts, and similar vertical shafts from being counted
on more than one level in the calculation of residential floor areas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Newport
Beach to initiate an amendment to Title 20 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code to revise Section
20.10.030 (Property Development Regulation M).
ADOPTED this 4th day of November 1999, by the following vote, to wit:
