A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH RECOMMENDING TO
THE CITY COUNCIL AMENDMENT TO THE NEWPORT
BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE TO DELETE CHAPTER 20.13
WHICH WAS RECODIFIED AS CHAPTER 15.15
(PLANNING COMMISSION AMENDMENTNO. 854)
WHEREAS, on September 9, 1996, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 96 -35
recodifying Chapter 20.03 as Chapter 15.15 in Title 15 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, in keeping with the approval of Ordinance No 96 -35, Title 20 of the
Municipal Code must be amended; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission is of the opinion that the proposed
amendment to the Newport Beach Municipal Code is consistent with the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the public was duly noticed of the public hearing; and
WHEREAS, on October 10, 1996, the Planning Commission of the City of
Newport Beach held a public hearing regarding AmendmentNo. 854; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has determined that the proposed
amendment is exempt under Class 5 (minor changes in land use limitations), from the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the State CEQA Guidelines; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of the
City of Newport Beach does hereby recommend that the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach approve Amendment No. 854, deleting Chapter 20.03 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code.
