Lattin 1625 Westhaven San Marino, Califorrda Dear Mr. Lattin : The Council of the City of Newport Beach on April 26 acted upon the request contained in your letter of April S, 1965, to have an encroachment of a two foot overhang into the twenty-five foot: a11ey at 222 Grand Canal., Balboa Island. The Cotmcil granted you permission to encroach the second floor two, feet over the twenty --five foot alley. W. Latti;n on property located at 222 Grand Canal, Balboa Island, which will permit a zero setback on a 25 foot alley. In addition to permitting the rear yard encroach- ment, the Planning Commission recommended to the City Council that the applicant be permitted.to have a roof overhang only,not to exceed 2 feet, above the second story, into the 25 foot alley. Absent HEARINGS: 1, Vice Mayor Elder opened the continued public hearing regarding proposed Ordinance No. 1104, being, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH REZONING PROPERTY AND AMENDING DISTRICT MAP NO. 18, rezoning Lot 3, Block A, Tract 673 from an. R-1 to a C-1-H District; located at 355 Hazel Drive (.356 Poppy), Corona del Mar; Planning Commission Amendment No. 190. No one desired to speak from the audience. The hearing was closed. Attorney Richard Higbie, representing Dr. Larson, owner of the property on Breakers Drive, and Dr. Larso spoke from the audience, requesting permit not be revoked. A Resolution adopted by the Hunt'n Beach City t Council, which was sent to the Har Commission voicing opposition to the Harbor Commission's new Motion x proposed ordinance, was ordered filed. A letter dated November 23, 1964, from the Success Broadcasting Company, requesting an amendment to the License Agreement between the City of Newport Beach and Newport -Costa Mesa Broadcasting, Inc. , in order to accommodate a tower of the height of 350 feet, was presented. Gary Whirl of Success Broadcasting Company spoke fro the audience. Resolution No. 6081, authorizing the execution of an Motion x Amendment to License Agreement, was adopted, subject Roll Call - to approval by the Planning Commission. Aye x x X x x x Absent x 8. A letter dated December 4, 1964, from Erwin P. Tuppan requesting an encroachment of a two foot overhang on the second floor into the alleyway on Lot 9 and 10 of Block 7, Section 5, Balboa Island Tract, was presented. Mr. Erwin Tuppan spoke from the audience requesting approval. The encroachment as requested was approved, with the Motion stipulation that it start with the second floor. A letter dated November 23, 1964, from Cecil F. Martin Balboa Island, recommending that the Council: pass a Motion resolution commending City Manager F.
