2 SUBJECT: EASEMENT FOR STREET AND HIGHWAY PURPOSES AT WEST BALBOA BOULEVARD
AND 14TH STREET
RECOMMENDATION:
1, Adopt a resolution accepting a Grant of Easement
for street and highway purposes at West Balboa
Boulevard and 14th Street.
20 Authorize City Clerk to record the Easement.
DISCUSSION:
The proposed easement to be accepted by the City is a corner
cutoff with a radius of 15 feet at the northwesterly corner of the subject
intersection, The precise location of the easement is shown on City of
Newport Beach Drawing No. R/W-5122-Lc
The purpose of the easement is to enable the reconstruction of
the existing 5 foot radius curb return at a radius of 20 feet in order to
provide for a better right turning movement. The Grantor is the Community
Methodist Church of Newport Beach. The Grant of Easement was condition of
approval for the Church's Use Permit, recently approved by the Planning
Commission, It is recommended that the City accept the Easement -and, using
street maintenance fu.nds, pay for reconstructing the curb return. Detailed
plans and a cost estimate will be prepared and presented to City Council for
approval at a later dates

Transmitted are the following:
1. The original and one copy of a grant of easement for street
and highway purposes over a portion of Lot 1, Block 114,
Tract No. 234, executed by Community Methodist.Church of
Newport Beach.
2. Resolution which, if adopted by the City Council, will
accept said document and authorize its recording.
The Public Works Director has requested that these documents
be presented to the City Council for consideration at their
meeting on September 25, 1967.
