SUBJECT: PROPOSED GRANT OF EASEMENT TO SOUTHERN.CALIFORN.I.A EDISON COMPANY
FOR ELECTRICAL SERVICE TO THE SENIOR CITIZENS' CENTER MULTI,
PURPOSE BUILDING
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a resolution authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to
execute a grant of easement to the Southern California
Edison Company over a portion of the Senior Citizens' Center
for electrical service to the multi -purpose building.
DISCUSSION:
Attached is a sketch showing the location of a proposed ease-
ment which will provide underground service from an existing power pole
in Fifth Avenue to a pad -mounted transformer located on the northerly
side of the multi -purpose building.
The underground conduit and transformer pad are provided by
the City as part of the building contract. The Edison Company provides
the transformer and cable.
A large drawing showing the easement will be on display in
the Council Chamber.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A GRANT OF EASEMENT TO
THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY FOR
ELECTRICAL EASEMENTS OVER A PORTION OF THE

WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach a Grant of Easement to the Southern
California Edison Company for electrical easements over a portion
of the Senior Citizens' Center Multi -Purpose Building; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the terms and
conditions of said Grant of Easement to the Southern California
Edison Company and finds them to be satisfactory and that it
would be in the best interest of the City to authorize the Mayor
and City Clerk to execute said Grant,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that said Grant of Easement above
described is approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of the City
of Newport Beach.
