SUBJECT: ENGINEERING SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR THE DESIGN OF A WATER MAIN
TO OLD CITY DUMP SITE
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a resolution authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to
execute the subject agreement with Shuirman- Simpson, Consulting
Civil. Engineers for the design of the subject facility.
DISCUSSION:
On January 8, 1973 the Council directed the staff to have plans
and specifications prepared for the construction of a water main to serve
the old City dump site.
A proposal has been obtained from the firm of Shuirman- Simpson,
Consulting Civil Engineers to design and prepare the plans and specifications
for the subject facility. They are highly qualified and have satisfactorily
performed similar work for the City.
Compensation is based on standard hourly rates with a specified
maximum fee of $9,000.00.
Included in the current budget is a sum of $5,000 for design of
the subject facilities. A budget amendment of $4,500 has been prepared for
Council consideration if execution of the agreement is authorized. The
amount includes $500.00 for contingencies. There are sufficient unappro-
priated funds in the water fund to provide for the budget amendment.
