RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Approve the Plans and Specifications for the Water
Transmission Main.
2. Authorize the City Clerk to advertise for bids for
Contract 1517 to be opened on Tuesday, October 16,
1973 at 10:00 a.m.
DISCUSSION:
On March 12, 1973, the Council authorized design and preparation
of the Plans and Specifications for construction of the subject facility.
This transmission main is required to provide domestic water to the old
City dump site which is presently being developed.
The Plans and Specifications were prepared by the firm of
Shuirman- Simpson, Civil Engineers. The engineer's estimate is $105,000.
The estimated date of completion is January 10, 1974.
An Environmental Statement has not been prepared for this project
inasmuch as the transmission main is an integral part of the development of
the dump site.
Funds in the amount of $75,000 are provided for this project in
the current budget. If required, a budget amendment will be submitted at
the time the project is submitted for Council consideration for award.
