ORDINANCE NO- 994
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACHRE-
PEALING SECTIONS 7304
AND 7305 OF THE NEW-
PORT BEACH MUNICIPAL
CODE AND ADDING SEC-
TION 7150 TO SAID CODE
RELATING TO THE OFFICI-
AL DATUM PLANE
The City Council of the City of
Newport Beach does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1- Sections 7304 and
7305 of the Newport Beach Mu-
nicipal Code are repealed.
SECTION 2- Section 7150 is
added to the Newport Beach
Municipal Code to read:
"SECTION 7150. Datum
Plane. The sea level datum
of 1929, as established by the
United States Coast and
Geodetic Survey, is hereby
established as the official
datum plane of the City for
the purpose of determining
the grades and elevations of
streets and sewers and for
any other public works with-
in the City, and for measur-
ing all other grades, eleva-
tions, or surface points in
said City, except that harbor
work, dredging, and harbor
stivcturE may be referenced
to mean lower low water, as
established by Lhe United
States Coast and Geodetic
Survey in and around New-
port Harbor."
SECTION 3. This ordinance
shall be published once in the
official newspaper of the City,
end the same shall be effective
30 days after the date of its
adoption.
This ordinance was introduced
at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Newport
Beach held on the 26th day of
March, 1962, and was adopted on
the 9th day of ,April, 1962, by
the following vote, to wit:
AYES, Councilmen: Kingsley,
Atkinson, Cook, Stoddard,
Hart, Lorenz, Somers
NOES, Councilmen: None
ABSENT Councilmen: None
