AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
AMENDING SECTIONS 12.24.070 AND 12.24.080
OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING
TO PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. .Section 12.24.070 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is amended to read:
"12.24.070 Prima Facie Speed Limit -- Forty Miles Per
Hour. The prima facie speed limit on the following named
streets or parts thereof shall be forty miles per hour:
Palisades Road from Jamboree Road to MacArthur Boulevard.
Dover Drive from West Coast Highway to Westcliff Drive.
Eastbluff Drive from Bixia Street northerly to Jamboree
Road.
San. Joaquin Hills Road between Marguerite Avenue and
MacArthur Boulevard.
Ford Road between MacArthur Boulevard and new MacArthur
Boulevard.
New MacArthur Boulevard between Ford Road and San
Joaquin Hills Road."
SECTION 2. Section 12.24.080 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is amended to read:
"12.24.080 Prima Facie Speed Limit -- Thirty -five Miles
Per Hour. The prima facie speed limit on the following named
streets or parts thereof shall be thirty -five miles per hours
Superior Avenue.
Jamboree Road from Bayside Drive to East Coast Highway.
Eastbluff Drive from Bixia Street southerly to Jamboree
Road.
Marguerite Avenue from Fifth Avenue to San Joaquin Hills
Road.
Westcliff Drive from Dover Drive to Irvine Avenue.
Irvine Avenue from Westcliff Drive to a point 826 feet
north of Mariners Drive.
Irvine Avenue from Santiago Drive to the northerly City
limit.
Newport Hills Drive East.
Newport Hills Drive West."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once in the
official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be effective

30 days after the date of its adoption.
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 8th day
of November , 1971, and was adopted on the 22nd day of
November 1971, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: McInnis, Kymla, Rogers,
Hirth, Croul, Parsons
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT COUNCILMEN: Dostal
