AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
AMENDING SECTION 2.12.100 OF THE NEWPORT
BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE TO MODIFY THE FUNCTIONS
• OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach DOES
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2.12.100 of,the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is amended to read:
"2.12.100 Public Works Department. The Public
Works Department shall be under the supervision of the
Public Works Director who shall also be the City Engineer
and the Superintendent of Streets. The functions of the
Public Works Department shall include:
(A) Planning, design, preparation of plans, and
administration of contracts for the construction
of public works, including street, storm drain,
sewer, water, harbor, street lighting, and other
public facilities;
• (b) Right of way acquisition;
(c) Subdivision engineering services;
(d) Traffic engineering services;
(e) Engineering services for the other City departments."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once in
the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be effective
thirty (30) days after the date of its adoption.
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 28th
day of August 1978, and was adopted on the 11th
day of September , 1978, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN Hart, Heather, Hummel,
McInnis, Ryckoff, Strauss, Williams
NOES, COUNCILMEN None
ABSENT COUNCILMEN None
