(1) A strip of land 10 feet in width across the South one -
half (Sz) of the Northwest quarter (Nh4) of the Southeast
quarter (BE!), the Southwest quarter (SA) of the Southeast)
quarter (SF.,.) and that portion of the Southeast quarter (S._µ)
of the Southeast quarter (SEP within Rancho Las Bolsas in
Section eighteen (18), Township six (6) South, Range ten (10)
!'lest, S.B.B.& M.,being 5 feet in width on each side of and
measured at right angles to a center line described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the Northerly line of tie South
one -half (Si) of the Northwest quarter (H ) of the South-
east quarter (SE4) of Section eighteen (18), Township six (6)
South, Range ten (10) hest, S.B.B.& 1. 200 feet East of the
West line of the Southeast quarter (SEI) of said Section

"A", "B" and "C" of the "Banning Tract ", as shown on a map
thereof filed in Case No. 6385 in the Superior Court of Los
Angeles County, California., and across that portion of the
Northeast quarter (NE4) of the Northeast quarter (MEµ) of
Section nineteen (19). Township six (6) South, Range ten (10)
Vest, S.B.B& H., within Ra cho Las Bolsas, said strip_ being
5 feet in width on each side of and measured at right angles
to a center line described as follows: -
Beginning at the Northwesterly corner of Block "B" of the
"Banning Tract ", as J._own on a Idap thereof filed in Case No.
6385 in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County, California;
thence South 461 46' East 5781.30 feet to a point, being the
intersection of the South prolongation of the Test line of
Whittier Avenue and the west prolongation of the center line of
Sixteenth Street, said Wittier Avenue being shown on a map of
the First Addition to Newport lesa Tract, -recorded in Book S.
page 61 of iiscel'laneous Maps, records oI' Orange County, Cali-
fornia, and slid Sixteenth Street being shown on a nap of the
Nei -wort Mesa Tract recorded in Book 5, pare 1 of Miscellaneous
Maps, records of Orange County, California.; Chance from said
point of intersection Fast along the hest prolongation of the
center line of said Sixteenth Street 380.59 feet to a point in
the Southwesterly lire of the property conveyed by the Banning
Company to Stephen Townsend et ux. by deed recorded in Book 139
page 381 of Deeds, records of Oren ge County, California.

Section 3.
The takin-s of the aescribeC' right of l'<<ay ie necessary
for said public use and the proposed public improvement is planned
and located in the manner which will be most compatible fith the
greatest public good and the least private injury.
Section 4.
The Board of Trustees of the city of RTewport Beach hereby)
directs proceedings to be taken under Section 1337 and thefollow --
inff sections includin; Sec. 1263 of the Code of Civil Procedure,
and under the ccn�titution of the State of California to acquire
said right of way.
The above and foregoing Resolution was regularly intro -
duced before the Board of Trustees of the citi, of Npi-ort Beach at
a regular meeting thereof held on thelOth day of July, 1922, and
passed by the vote of two- thirds and more of all the members there
of, to -wit:
