The Committee appointed is Counoilmen Ellsworth and Williamson. A petition with 29 signatures and a number of oommunloatlons from residents of Corona Del liar expressing different ideas in regard to the parking and sidewalk on the south side of Ooean Boulevard were oonsidered, and as it is impossible to satisfy them all on motion of Counoilman Williamson seoonded by Counoilman Claire and oarried, the petition and all oommunloatlons were filed until suoh time as the property owners get together and settle on the improvements desired. On motion of Counoilman Ellsworth seoonded by Counoilman HSlmer and oarried, the request of the Newport Harbor Chamber of Commeroe for appropriations for advertising from Sept. 15th to Ootober 15th amounting to 9700.00 were granted. NEW BUSINESS. Harold H. Thorne of Redfield, Van Evers & Co. vise present and made an offer for the $36,000 Uunioipal Improvement Distriot No• 6 of 51 % ooupon bonds at par and offering the servloes of their attorneys to assist in drawing resolutions, notloes, eto. for the work. The matter wag oonsidered but aotion on same was postponed to one week from tonight. On motion of Counoilman Williamson seoonded by Counoilman Claire and oarried, the demands erhioh were signed and approved.by the FSnanoe Committee, were allowed and warrants to be drawn for same. Counoilman Harry H. WS1liamson.introduoed a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NE'.1PORT BEACH FIXING THE RATE PER CENTUM AND LEVYING A TAX UPON ALL THE TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF NEI'PORT BEACH WHICH IS TAXABLE TUEREIN FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES. The Resolution was read, oonsidered, designated RESOLUTION NO. 470 and upon oall of the roll passed by the following vote: AYES, Counoilmen HSlmer, Claire, Ellsworth, Williamson, Johnson. NOES, Counoilmen None. ABSENT, Counoilmen None. City Attorney Thompson presented an ordinanoe amending Ordinanoe No. 247, being an ordinanoe oreating a Planning Commission and nhioh did not oomform to the 1927 statutes. The same was oonsidered and on motion of Counoilman Williamson seoonded by Counoilman Claire and oarried, the 0 dlnanoe was designated Ordinanoe No. 349 and passed to the seoond reading. Counoilman Paul B. Ellsworth Sntroduoed a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE, CLOSE -UP AND ABA3DON FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES,*A CERTAIN PORTION OF FIRST STREET AND A CERTAIN ALLEY VITHIN THE SAID CITY. The Resolution was read, oonsidered, designated RESOLUY'IOi3 N0. 471 and upon oall of the roll passed by the.following, vote: AYES, Counoilmen HSlmer, Claire, Ellsworth, Williamson, Johnson. NOES, Counoilman None; ABSENT, Counoilmen None. Counoilman Lloyd Claire Sntroduoed an Ordinanoe amending Ordinanoe No. 148 of the City of Newport Beaoh in regard to the numbering of houses in the said City. The same was oonsidered, and On motion of Counoilman WS111ameon seoonded by Counoilman Ellsworth and oarried, Ordinanoe No. 350 was passed to the seoond reading and referred. to the City Attorney. Counoilman Hermann HSlmer Sntroduoed an Ordinanoe renaming some of the streets in the City of Newport Beaoh. The same was oonsidered and on motion of Counoilman Claire seoonded by Counoilman HSlmer and oarried, Ordinanoe no. 351 was passed to the seoond reading and referred to the olty Attorney. There being no further business on motion of Counoilman Claire seoonded by Counoilman Williamson and oarried, the meeting adjourned to 7:30 0olook P.
