• 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
.OF NEWPORT BEACH FIRING TIME AND PLACE FOR A
4 PUBLIC HEARING ON APPLICATION OF PACIFIC
ELECTRIC RAILWAY COMPANY FOR A CERTAIN FRANCHISE,
5 AND DIRECTING THAT NOTICE BE GIVEN THEREOF.

7 WHEREAS, the-'Pacific Electric Railway Company, a
8 corporation, has filed its application with the City of Newport
9 Beach on the dr day of December, 1928, asking for a
10 franchise to construct and for a period of fifty (50) years to
11 maintain poles, lines and wires in Central Avenue in the City
12 of Newport Beach, California;
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
14 OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH:

Section 1. That the 28th day of January, 1929,

at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P. M, of said day at the meeting
17
place of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, in the
18
City Hall of said City, be, and is hereby fixed as the time and
19
place for a public hearing of the application of the Pacific
20
Electric Railway Company for a franchise to construct and for
21
the period of Fifty years to maintain and operate its trolley
22
wires, trolley suspension wires, trolley feeder cables, trans-
23
mission lines, telephone wires, and other wires necessary or
24
convenient for the operation of its railway, supported upon side
25
poles with cross arms to be constructed adjacent to and back of
26
curbs which may be constructed, or curb line, in Central Avenue
27
over the following described route, to —wit:

Along the northerly side of the northerly roadway

of Central Avenue and the southerly side of the
29
southerly roadway of Central Avenue, between the
30
westerly side of Alvarado Street and the easterly
side of °B° Street.

Section 2. That the City Clerk of the City of
New Beach, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to
publish notice for four (4) successive weeks, in NEWPORT NEWS,
setting forth the making of such application, the date therein
contained, and the time and place fixed for a public hearing
thereon, and that said franchise will then be awarded to the
highest bidder.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution
was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach on the 10th day of December, 1928,1
by the following vote, to -suit:
