411 WHEREAS, Section 3897d of the Political Code of the
m
5
State of California,
provides among other things,
that whenever
6
any property has been
deeded for delinquent taxes
and /or assess -
7
ments to the State of
California, and said property has also been
8
deeded for delinquent
taxes and /or assessments to
any municipality,
9
1 the governing body of
said municipality may enter
into an agreemen
10 1 with the Board of Supervisors in the County in which said property
11 is situated, subject to the approval of the State Controller, for
12 the purchase of, or for the option to purchase the property so
13 held by the State, or any part or parts thereof; and
14 WHEREAS, more than seventy -five percent (75 %) of the
15 lots in the following described tracts: "Tract No. 3230, Tract
16 No. 6730, Tract No. 6820, "RESUB. OF CORONA DEL MAR" and "CORONA
17 DEL AR ", together with two parcels of.land in Section 28, Township
18 6 South, Range 10 West, in the City of Newport Beach, County of
19 Orange, State of0alifornia, are now delinquent for county taxes
20 and city taxes of the City of Newport Beach, and assessments,
21 and two hundred twenty -two (222) of said lots have been deeded
22 to the State of California for non - payment of city taxes and
23 assessments, all of which are past due for more than five years;
24 and
25 WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the City
26 Council of the City of Newport Beach a plan to return to the
27 City tax rolls and to the County tax rolls all the following
28 described lots sithated in the City of Newport Beach, County of
29 Orange, State of California:

And WHEREAS, there has also been presented to the City
Council of the City of-Newport Beach, an agreement dated the
day of July, 1936, wherein the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Orange, State of California, acting under the
authority granted to it by Section 3897d of the Political Code
of the State of California, therein designated as the Seller,
and the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, acting under
the authority granted to it by Section 3897d of the Political
Code of the State of California, is designated as the Buyer,
wherein the said Buyer agrees, among other things, to purchase
said delinquent tax lots heretofore mentioned and more particular
ly described in said agreement, for the sum of Two Hundred Twenty
Two Dollars ($222.00), cash, lawful money of the United States
of America, said agreement however, to be subject to the appro
of the State Controller of said State, and subject and pursuant
in all respects to Section 3897d of the Political Code of the
State of California.
NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach approves the plan this day sub-
mitted to it for the purpose of placing said delinquent tax
property back on the tax rolls of the City of Newport Beach, and
orders the same to be attached to this resolution and filed as a
permanent record with the City Clerk of the City of Newport

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach by reference thereto, makes said plan
and the whole thereof, a part of this resolution to the same
extent and purpose as if the same were herein set out in full;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the agreement heretofore
mentioned be, and the same is hereby approved as written, and
the Mayor of the City of Newport Beach, and the City Clerk of

said City are hereby directed and authorized to sign and execute
the same on behalf of the City of Newport Beach, and the Clerk
is directed and instructed to deliver a duly executed copy
thereof to the Seller therein named.
I hereby certify that the above and foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Newport Beach at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 6th day of July, 1936, by the
