WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the City
11 Council of the City of Newport Beach a certain 011 and Gas Lease
dated the 20th day of July, 1936, wherein the City of Newport
Beach is referred to as the Lessor, and The Texas Company is
preferred to as the Lessee; and
WHEREAS, said lease provides that the City of Newport
Beach leases to the said The Texas Company, certain property
owned by the City of Newport Beach, for the purpose of producing
oil and gas thereon; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
(deems that it is for the beat interests of said City that said
property described in said lease, be leased to The Texas'Qompany.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor and
j City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach be, and they are hereby
directed and instructed to execute said lease on behalf of the
city of Newport Beach, when the City Engineer and City Attorney
of the City of Newport Beach shall have approved in writing by
endorsement on said lease, the description therein contained and
the form of said lease; that said lease shall be delivered to
The Texas Company, or its representative, when the bonus, to -wit,
the sum of $3722.40, provided in their offer of July 17th, 1936,
shall have been paid and The Texas Company has executed said lease
agreement.
I hereby certify that the above and foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly passed and adopted by tye
City Council of the City of Newport Beach at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 201h day of Jul- , 1936,
by the following vote, to -wit:
