1 RESOLUTION NO. 995

4 WHEREAS, a certain instrument in writing wherein the
5 Cities of Santa Ana, Anaheim, Pullerton, Orange, Placentia San -
6 itary District, Buena Park Sanitary District and Garden Grove
7 Sanitary District, all in Orange County, California, therein
8 designated the parties of the first part, and the City of
9 Newport Beach, therein designated party of the second part,
10 was this day presented to the City Council of the City of
11 Newport Beach for its signature. Said instrument in writing'
12 aforesaid granted to the City of Newport Beach the right and
13 privilege to discharge screened and treated sewage, effluent
14 and digested sludge as approved by the State Board of Health,
15 into the sewer pipe line of Section 1 of the joint outfall
16 1 sewer, commencing at the pumping plant located on said sewer
17 near the shore of the Pacific Ocean and extending in a gener-
18 ally southwesterly direction into said Ocean at or near the
19 westerly side of the west stone jetty constructed by the
20 County of Orange at the mouth or inlet of the Santa Ana River
21 in Orange County, California, for the time and upon the terms,
22 conditions, covenants, restrictions and reservations contained
23 in said agreement; and
24 WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City
25
of Newport
Beach that it would be
for the
best interests and
26
advantage
of said City to become
a party
to said agreement and
27 11 to execute and sign the same.
28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the Mayor and
29 City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach be, and they are hereby
30 authorized, instructed and directed in the name of said City to
31 join in, execute and deliver said agreement to said parties of
32 the first part.

of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 5th day of October, 19360 by the following vote,
