1 RESOLUTION NO. 996

4 WHEREAS, a certain instrument in writing wherein the
5 City of La Habra, Orange Coimty, California, therein designated
6 the party of the first part, and the City of Newport Beach,
7 therein designated party of the second part, was this day pres-
8 ented to the City Council of the City of Newport Beach for its
9 signature. Said instrument in writing aforesaid granted to the
10 City of Newport Beach the right and privilege to discharge
11 screened and treated sewage, effluent and digested sludge as
12 approved by the Stit a Board of Health, into the sewer pipe line
13 of Section 1 of the joint outfall sewer, commencing at the
14 pumping plant located on said sewer near the shore of the
15 pacific Ocean and extending in a generally southwesterly direc-
16 tion into said Ocean at or near the westerly side of the west
17 stone jetty constructed by the County of Orange at the mouth or
18 inlet of the Santa Ana River in Orange County, California, for
19 the time and upon the terms, conditions, covenants, restrictions
20 and reservations contained in said agreement; and
21 WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City
22 of Newport Beach that it would be for the best interests and
23 advantage of said City to become a party to said agreement and
24 to execute and sign the same.
25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor and
26 City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach be, and they are hereby
27 authorized, instructed and directed in the name of said City to
28 join in, execute and deliver said agreement to said parties of
29 the first part.

of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 5th day of October, 1936, by the following vote,
to -wit:
