WHEREAS, the City Engineer presen ed an application to the Department of Public Works of the State of California for the expenditure of 03,975.34 from the "Special Gas Tax Street Improvement Fund" for the maintenance of the following described streets: Central Avenue, Ocean Boulevard, Coast Boulevard, Marine Avenue, Park Avenue and Agate Avenue, for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1940: and WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach will receive approximately $2,030.00 from the Department of Publi c Works of 10 the State of California, as its share of the 1/4 cent Gas Tax 11 allocation for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1940; and 12 WHEREAS, there is an unobligated balance of $1,945.84 13 in the "Special Gas Tax Street Improvement Fund" unexpended 14 during the fiscal year 1938 -1939; and 15 WHEREAS, said funds are to be deposited in the "Special 16 Gas Tax Street Improvement Fund" and to be expended upon City 17 streets of major importance, in accordance with the rules and 18 regulations of the Department of Public Works of the State of 19 California; 20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council 21 determines that the Gas Tax funds received by the City for the 22 fiscal year ending June 30th, 1940, shall be expended in accord - 23 ante with the rules and regulations of the Department of Public 24 Works of the State of California, on the following described 25 streets: 26 CENTRAL AVENUE from the Santa Ana River bridge to McFadden Place, the north and south roadways from McFadden 27 Place to "B" Street, and from "B" Street to Ocean Blvd. at the West Jetty; 28 OCEAN BOULEVARD from Central Avenue at "G" Street 29 to Central Avenue at the West Jetty; 30 y COAST BOULEVARD from the north city limits near 46th Street to Central Avenue at McFadden Place; 31 MARINE AVENUE from the North Bay Front to Park 32 Avenue; -1- it e 0 e 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 *e -% s PARK AVENUE from Marine Avenue to Agate Avenue; AGATE AVENUE from Park Avenue to the South Bay Front; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer of the City of Newport Beach be and is hereby authorized and instructed to make application to the Department of Public Works of the State of California for approval of the maintenance of the here - inbefore described streets.
