WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the
4
City Council of the City of Newport Beach a certain Contract
5
by and between the Standard 011 Company of California, therein
6
referred to as Seller, and the City of Newport Beach, therein
7
referred to as Buyer; and

WHEREAS, said contract provides that the Seller will
g
sell to the Buyer all of Buyer's requirements of lubricating
10
oils and greases used or bought to be used by Buyer in California,
11
for a period of one year commencing as of February 10, 1940, and
12
ending February 9, 1941, at the prices, and upon the terms and
13
conditions in said Contract specified; and
14
WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Newport Beach
deems that it is for the advantage and best interests of said
15
City that said Contract be entered into with the said Seller,
16
and that said lublicating oils and greases be Purchased from
17
the Seller upon the terms and conditions in said contract set fort
18
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor and
19
City Clerk of the city of Newport Beach be, and they are hereby
20
directed, instructed and authorized to execute said contract in
21
the name of and on behalf of the city of Newport Beach, and the
22
City Clerk is directed to deliver a duly executed copy thereof
23
to the Seller therein named.

I hereby certify that the above and foregoing Resolution
25
was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of
26
the City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on
27
the 5th day of February, 1940, by th f llowing vote, to. -wit:
