WHEREAS, by virtue of Traffic Ordinance No. 345 and
4
amendments thereto, of the city of Newport Beach, the City Council
5
of the City of Newport Beach is authorized to prohibit and /or
6
limit parking of automobiles and other vehicles on certain streets
7
and alleys in the city of Newport Beach; and

WHEREAS, under said Ordinance No. 345, the City Council
g
of the city of Newport Beach is authorized to prohibit and /or
10
limit parking of automobiles and other vehicles on said streets
11
and alleys by Resolution duly passed by said City Council.

13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That parking of
14 automobiles and other vehicles on the streets and alleys of
15 said City of Newport Beach hereinafter named, shall be limited
16 and/or prohibited as shown hereafter, and traffic shall be
17 permitted only in one direction upon certain streets hereinafter
18 named, and the Chief of Police of the city of Newport Beach is
19 authorized, directed and instructed to do all necessary painting
20 of curbs of said streets and alleys in the colors hereinafter
21 specified and to post all necessary and appropriate signs in
22 and along said streets and alleys, which signs shall clearly
23 indicate the fact that parking is either limited or prohibited
24 along the streets and alleys hereinafter mentioned.
25 WASHINGTTON STREET
26 Parking of automobiles and other vehicles is prohibited
27 along the northwesterly and southeasterly sides of Washington
28 1 Street, between Central Avenue and the Ocean Front sidewalk, and
• 301 I the curbs of said street shall be painted red to indicate said
prohibited parking.

1 WASHINGTON STREET TRAFFIC
2 Motor vehicles shall only be permitted to travel in
-� 3 one direction, to —wit, northerly, on Washington Street, between
4 Central Avenue and the Ocean Front sidewalk.
5 PALM STREET
6 Parking of automobiles and other vehicles shall be
7 prohibited along the southeasterly curb of Palm Street between
g Central Avenue and the Ocean Front sidewalk, and parking of
9 automobiles and other vehicles shall be prohibited along the
10 southwesterly curb of Palm Street between the alley and the
11 Ocean Front sidewalk, said alley being southerly of Central
12 Avenue, and the curbs of said street shall be painted red to
13 indicate said prohibited parking.
14 PALM STREET TRAFFIC
15 Motor vehicles shall only be permitted to travel in one
16 direction, to —wit, southerly, on Palm Street, between Central
17 Avenue and the Ocean Front sidewalk.
I8 PALM STREET PARKING
19 Parking of motor vehicles shall be limited to ten (10)
20 minutes on the northwesterly side of Palm Street between the
21 alley lying northerly of the Ocean Front sidewalk and Central
22 Avenue, and the curbs of said street shall be painted green to
23 indicate such restricted parking.
24 SHELL STREET
25 Parking of motor vehicles is hereby prohibited on
Shell Street in that district known as Corona Del Mar, and said
26
27 street shall be painted and sign posted to indicate such prohibited
28 parking of motor vehicles thereon.
29 COVE STREET
30 Parking of motor vehicles is hereby prohibited on
Cove Street in that district known as Corona Del Mar, and said
31
street shall be painted and sign posted to indicate such prohibited
32
parking of motor vehicles thereon.

ROCK STREET
Parking of motor vehicles is hereby prohibited on Rock
Street in that district known as Corona Del tsar, and said street
shall be painted and sign posted to indicate such prohibited
parking of motor vehicles thereon.
DAHLIA STREET
Parking of motor vehicles is prohibited on that portion
of Dahlia Street located southerly of Ocean Boulevard, and the
curbs of said street shall be painted red and properly sign posted
to indicate such prohibited parking.
FERNLEAF STREET
Parking of motor vehicles is prohibited on that portion
of Fern Street located southerly of Ocean Boulevard, and the curbs
of said street shall be painted red and properly sign posted to
indicate such prohibited parking.
The Chief of Police of the city of Newport Beach is
hereby authorized and instructed to erect and construct, or cause
to be erected and constructed, all necessary signs showing the
parking restrictions on the streets hereinbefore mentioned and
described.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
duly and regularly passed by the City Council of the city of
Newport Beach at an adjourned regular meeting thereof held on the
16th day of June, 1941, by the following vote, to -wit:
