RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, the City Engineer presented an application to the
Department of Public 'corks of the State of California for the 1
expenditure of X5,361.96 from the "Special Gas Tax Street Improve-
ment Fund" for the acquisition of the Pacific Electric right of way
between IficFadden Place and IBI Street, for the purpose of widening
Central Avenue, for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1942; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach will receive approx-
imately X3,880.00 from the Department of Public Works of the
State of California as its share of the 1/4 cent Gas Tax allocation !
for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1942; and

VIHEREAS, the City has an unobligated balance of revenues
i
at the end of the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1941, in the j
amount of
I
NOW. THER =� , BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council de-
termines that the Gas Tax funds received by the City for the
I
fiscal year ending June 30th, 1942, together with the unobligated
I
balance of Gas Tax funds, shall be expended in accordance with
I
the rules and regulations of the Department of Public 4;'orks of
the State of California, on the following described streets:
The acquisition of the Pacific Electric Company
right of way along Central Avenue between I.1cFadden Place and
TB' Street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer of the
City of Newport Beach be and is hereby authorized and instructed
to make application to the Department of Public 1,11or'_ts of the
State of California for approval of the acquisition of the
hereinbefore described right of way.

Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting held this 15th
day of June, 1941, by the following vote, to -wit:
