WIIERIEAS, the Cite Council of t_ic Cite of Newport
Beach, Californian did heretofore instruct t.hc City En ineer
of said City to procure and prepare a virittcn report, pur-
suant 'to Sections 2 and 3 of the "Special Assessment Invcsti-
gation, Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931,," as
amended, and thereafter the said City L''n.-ineer presented to
this City Councilq on the -±'_X1 day of 4/, o7l' a 19411,
Plan No. 410, showinl- tric said improvement, and also a map
of the proposed assessment distract, No. !fOf for considcra-
tion; and ��
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2
of the "Special Assessment Invcsti.,ation, Limitation and Majority
Protest Act of 1931," aS amended, the 01 t Council must by
resolution or ordinance determine in .-eneral the nature, location
and e „tent of the proposed improvoi:icnt; also - encrally define
the boundaries or extent of the district or lands to be specially
assessed to pay the cost thereof, or any part of such cost, and
deterndne the statntc under which it in proposed to conduct
the proposed proceedings;

AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the proposed improve,acnt mentioned in the
title of this resolution is ,noro particularly described as
follows:
The construction of a reinforced cement concrete
sheet pile bulkhead and appurtenances and appurtenant work
adjacent and contiguous to the easterly line of Lot M of Block
P of Tract No. 512, as per map recorded in Miscellaneous Map
Book 17y Pages 33 to 36 inclusive, Record:, of Orange County
California, between the easterly prolongation of the southerly
line of Lct 3 of said Bloch P and tPhc easterly prolongation of
the northerly line of Lot 16 of said Block P, all within the
City of Newport Beach., California. The said construction and
improvement of the aforesaid bulhlhcad is doomed necessary and
convenient to protect the streets, public ways and other pro-
perty* in the C07 of Newport Beach from overflow by water.
Reference is hereby made to Plant No. 410$ on file
in the office of the City Engineer, showing in detail the
proposed improvement.
2. That the boundaries of the district or lands
to be specially assessed to hay the coat of said proposed
improverhent are more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at t }he northwesterly corner
of Lot 16 of Block P of Tract No, 518, as
per map thor. eof recorded in Book 17, Pages
33 to 36 inclusive, of Miscellaneous Maps..
Records of Orange County, California; thence
easterly along the northerly= line of said
Lot 16 and the castcrl-y prolongation of the

said nortborly line, a d.istynce of 110 feet;
thence southerly alon; a line parallel to the
easterly line of Let M of said Tract No. 518,
to an intersection with the cacterly prolongation
of the couthorly line of Lot 3 of said Block P;
thence westerly in a direct line to the south-
westerly corne r of said Lot 3; thence northerly
alonL the westerly line of sa:i.d. Bloch. P to the
point of boLinni.ng, /
A nap of said district, No. ig , indicatinS by a
boundary line the extent of the territory included within the
proposed assessment district, is ou file in the office of
the City Engineer of the City of Newport Beach. Reference
is hereby made to said map for z further, full and more
complete description of the said assessment district, and the
said map so on file shall govern for ali details as to the
extent of the said assessment district.
3. That the cntirn coot of said proposed improve-
ment shall be assessed against the Innd.s to be benefited
thereby and hcioin doccribcd.

made under the provi 3ions of the "Improvement Act of 1911,"
approved April 7, 1911, and amendments thoreto. And that
scrial bonds bearing; interest at the rate of sin per cent
(6) per annum, and ontonding over a period ending nine years
from the second dad of January, not succeeding; the next
October fifteenth, following their date, will be issued here-
under in the manner provided by the ca:i.d "Improve; ?icnt Act
