WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the City
Council of the city of Newport Beach a certain license agreement
by and between the city of Newport Beach as first party, and
H. A. STEVENSON, as second party; and
WHEREAS, said license agreement provides that the first
party grants to the second party a license to sell live bait
from the city owned pier which extends into the waters of the
Pacific Ocean opposite Main Street in that portion of the city
of Newport Beach known as Balboa; and
WHEREAS, the City Council ofthe city of Newport Beach
deems that it is for the best interests of the City of Newport
Beach that said license be granted upon the terms and conditions
therein specified.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That said contract be
and the same is hereby approved by the City Council of the city
of Newport Beach, and the mayor and City Clerk of said city shall,
and they are hereby authorized, instructed and directed to sign
and execute said contract on behalf ofsaid city, and the Clerk is
directed to have the second party execute said contract within two
days after the date hereof, and the said contract shall thereupon
be filed and become a valid contract as between said parties.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
and regularly passed by the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of November,
1941, by the following vote, to —wit:
