WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
Intends to widen CentralAvenue between McFadden Place and "B"
Street, under Part 1, of Division 6, of the Streets and Highways
Code, said Part 1 consisting of the Street Opening Act of 1903;
an d
WHEREAS, the legal firm of O'MELVENY & MYERS of Los Angeles,
California, has to date hereof passed on all proceedings taken
by the City Council, step by step; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary, in order to sell the bonds to
be issued in said proceeding, to have a reputable firm of attorneys
pass upon the validity of said bonds before the same may be sold;
and
WHEREAS, the said firm of 01MELVENY & MYERS of Los Angeles,
California,is recognized as conpetent in passing on street
Improvement proceedings in the State of California, and its
opinion is therefore necessary on the validity of bonds issued
before the same may be sold,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the legal firm of
OtMELVENY & MYERS of LosAngeles,California, be, and it is hereby
hired and retained by the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, for the purpose of passing on all proceedings relative
to the widening of Central Avenue, step by step, as taken, and
to issue its opinion upon the validity of the bonds to be issued
In said proceeding.
