RESOLUTION NO.�_
WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the
City of Newport Beach a certain agreement dated the 18th day of
May, 1942, between the City of Newport Beach and the County of
Orange, wherein it is agreed that the City leases to the County
a certain Thordarson Model T- 17 -K -21 Transmitter with the
following units:
1 radio frequency unit complete with power supply
1 Modulator unit complete with power supply
1 Microphone
1 2490Kc crystal
1 cabinet for two units
1 TZ40 tube
3 6L6 tubes
2 6V6 tubes
2 6J7 tubes
2 866JR tubes
And WHEREAS, the City leases said radio transmitter
to the County of Orange for the reason that the City cannot obtain
authorization from the Federal Communications Commission to
operate said radio transmitter; and
WHEREAS, said transmitter is necessary andteeded to
facilitate the conduct of the police business in the City of
Newport Beach and is further needed in the event of an emergency
such as a mayor disaster as defined by the City Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion and judgment of the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach that it is for the best
interests of said City that said radio transmitter be leased
as aforesaidr and that the consideration offered is adequate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor and
City Clerk be, and they are hereby directed, authorized and
instructed to execute said Agreement in the name of and on behalf
of the City of Newport Beach.
