RESOLUTION NO 1� fa
WHEREAS, one J. E. CHAMBERS, a widower, offered to the
City of Newport Beach the sum of $500.00 for 34.18 feet of Lot 3,
Block "I ", Tract No. 323, Corona del Mar, in the City of Newport
Beach, as shown on a Map recorded in Book 14, pages 40 and 41 of
Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach by Resolution
No. 2381, duly passed and adopted, accepted said offer of
J. E. Chambers; and
WHEREAS, said J. E. Chambers has only paid on account
of the purchase price aforesaid, the sum of $50.00, and has
wholly failed, neglected and refused to pay the balance of
$450.00, although demand has been made upon him on numerous
occasions to pay the balance due as aforesaid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That said Resolution
No. 2391 aforesaid, be and the same is hereby rescinded and
declared of no further force or effect for any purpose whatever.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the sale of said property
heretofore mentioned, to the said J. E. Chambers, a widower, be,
and the same is hereby cancelled as of this date, and the moneys
heretofore paid thereon by the said J. E. Chambers to the City of
Newport Beach, are hereby declared to be forfeited to the said
City of Newport Beach for the failure of said J. E. Chambers to
the balance of said purchase price aforesaid.
I hereby certify that the above and foregoing Resolution
duly and regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of
City of Newport Beach at an adjourned regular meeting thereof
