WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the
City Council of the City of Newport Beach a certain lease
dated the 20th day of July, 1942, wherein the City of Newport
Beach is referred to as the Lessor, and The United States of
America is referred to as the Government; and
WHEREAS, said lease provides that the Lessor leases
to the Government the following described property: That certain]
pier with landing float located on "N" Street easterly of
Central Avenue and extending into the waters of Newport Bay,
said property being located in the City of Newport Beach, County
of Orange, State of California, and to be used exclusively
by the United States Coast Guard, for the term commencing
July 20, 1942, and ending June 30, 1943s with the .option to
renew said lease from year to year at the rate of $1.00 per year,
however, said lease
not
to extend beyong
June 30,
1949; and
WHEREAS,
the
City Council of
the City
of Newport
Beach deems that it is for the best interests of said city
and the inhabitants thereof, and for the public peace and safety
that said lease be granted to the Government upon the terms and
conditions therein set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor and
City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach be, and they are hereby
directed, authorized and instructed to execute said lease in the
name of and on behalf of the city of Newport Beach.
I hereby certify that the above and foregoing
resolution was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach at an adjourned regular
