3 WHEREAS, ROBERT H. BALLARD and NAN E. BALLARD, husband
4 and wife, have this day offered to the CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH,
5 the sum of $500.00 for Lot 22, Block "B ", Tract 673, Corona del
6 Mar, in the City of Newport Beach, as shown on a Map recorded in
7 Book 20, pages 17 and 19 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of
8 Orange County, California; and
9 WHEREAS, the said price is a fair and adequate price
10 as and for the purchase price of said lot; and
11 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
12 deems that it is for the best interests of said City that said
13 property be sold for the said sum of $500.00; and
14 WHEREAS, the price offered is dust, fair and adequate
15 and is not disproportionate to the real value of the property
16 above described.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That said property be
18 sold to the said Robert H. Ballard and Nan E. Ballard, husband
19 and wife, for the sum of $500.00, free and clear of all
20 encumbrances, subject to the taxes for the fiscal year 1942 -43,
21 and unpaid improvement assessments of record. Also subject to
22 conditions, restrictions and reservations of record. The Mayor
23 and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to
24 execute and deliver a deed for said property to the said parties
25 upon receipt of the consideration above set forth.
26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the sum of $125.00 be
27 paid to H. CARDOZA SLOAN, as and for his commission for the
28 negotiating of the sale of said real property to Robert H.
29 Ballard and Nan E. Ballard, his wife, as point tenants with the
30 right of survivorship, said sum being a fair and reasonable
31 commission to be allowed in said sale, and said broker being a
32 licensed realtor of the City of Newport Beach.

I hereby certify that the above and foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach at an adjourned regular
meeting thereof held on the 20th day of July, 1942, by the
following vote, to —wit:
