WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the
City Council of the City of Newport Beach a certain Mutual Aid
Fire Plan Agreement between the cities of Santa Ana, Brea,
Fullerton, Anaheim, Huntington Beach, LaHabra, Laguna Beach, Newpor
Beach, Orange, Placentia, San Clemente, Seal Beach, Tustin, Buena
Park County Fire Protection District, Garden Grove County Fire
Protection District, Olive County Fire Protection District, being
all the incorporated cities and fire districts of Orange County,
California, and THE COUNTY OF ORANGE and the STATE OF CALIFORNIA
DIVISION OF FORESTRY; and
WHEREAS, the United States of America is now at war
and is in particular danger from acts of foreign enemies along its
Pacific Coast line; and
WHEREAS, each of the parties above named owns and
maintains fire - fighting equipment for use in combating fires
occurring within the particular territory under its jurisdiction;
WHEREAS, the fire - fighting equipment of the
Ilrespective parties above named might prove inadequate to effecti
(combat fires within the particular area in the event of enemy air
raids or other attack or major holocaust occurring within its
Ijuriediction; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the parties above named
I lto make their fire - fighting equipment available in aid and
assistance of each other in the event of a major disaster or
11holocaust, wehther resulting from acts of war or otherwise; and

WHEREAS, it is the opinion and judgment of the City
Council of the city of Newport Beach that it is for the beet
interests and protection of the inhabitants of the City of Newport

1 IlBeach that the above mentioned agreement be entered into, to the
2llend that said city may have maximum protection in the event of a
3 11major disaster as above stated.
4 NOW* THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor and
5II0ity Clerk of the City of Newport Beach be, and they are hereby
6lldirected, authorized and instructed to execute said agreement in
7 the name of and on behalf of the City of Newport Beach.
