3 WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the City
4 Council of the city of Newport Beach a certain agreement dated the
5 3rd day of May, 1943, between the City of Newport Beach therein
6 referred to as the "City ", and Vance Roofing Company, therein
7 referred to as the " Oontractor"; and
8 WHEREAS, said agreement provides that the City has
9 awarded to the Contractor the contract for the furnishing of all
10 required labor, materials, equipment and transportation for the
11 re- roofing of the city reservoir located at 16th and Monrovia
12 Streets, Costa Mesa, California, for the agreed price of $890.00;
13 and
14 WHEREAS, said agreement specifically sets forth the
15 terms, conditions and price for the doing of said work; and
16 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
17 deems that it is for the best interests of said city that said
18 contract be executed and that the work therein specified be done
19 by the Contractor upon the terms and conditions therein specified.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor and
21 City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach be, and they are hereby
22
directed, authorized and instructed to execute said agreement in
23
the name of and on behalf of the City of Newport Beach, and that a
24
duly executed copy thereof be delivered by the City Clerk to the
25
Contractor in said agreement named.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
27
and regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of the city
28
of Newport Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd day
29
of May, 1943, by the following vote, to -wit:
