A_ ♦^ {- RESOLUTION NO. � A 0 AREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach has for a number of years performed services of the License Collector of the City of Newport Beach without compensation therefor; and WHEREAS, the present salary of the City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach was fixed as of the 16th day of April, 1928; and WHEREAS, the present salary of the City Clerk is inadequate for the duties that he is compelled to perform, in that his duties as City Clerk have increased greatly since 1928, and in addition to the regular duties of said City Clerk he has performed other duties which do not properly belong to his office; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the office of Deputy License Collector is hereby established by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the said office of Deputy Li- cense Collector be given to the City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach in that it will not interfere with the duties of his .office; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that there be paid to the Deputy Li- cense Collector the sum of $50.00 per month, payable monthly at the time and in the same manner as the compensation of all other officers of the said City is paid, and that such employment and compensation therefor commence a the 18th day of April, 1944. WHEREUPON, Councilman .r K made a motion, duly seconded by Councilman AAY�.� and carried, that the foregoing Resolution be adopted.
